10 Things You Need to Do This Fall

Top 10 Things on my Fall Bucket List

Autumn will forever be my favorite season. The Fall fashion, food, beverages, weather— it is all perfect. Before the snow hits, I like to enjoy this season while it lasts. Here are the top ten things on my Fall Bucket List this year:

  1. Go apple picking

This is my favorite activity to partake in during the Autumn months. Apple picking with family and friends is relaxing and a great use of time. Not only is it an interactive activity outdoors, but you also leave the farm with a whole bag of apples to enjoy.

  1. Visit a pumpkin patch

I have loved visiting pumpkin patches since I was a little kid. This is another outdoor activity that allows you to enjoy the crisp Fall weather. Picking out pumpkins to carve, use as decorations, or bake with is all part of the Fall experience.

  1. Have an Autumn photoshoot

The foliage makes for the perfect backdrop. Get your family and friends together for some new photos! It is a lot of fun to pick out clothes that match the Autumn setting. Or, if you prefer not to be on camera, capture the beauty of the outdoors. You can get plenty of pictures of the changing leaves and have a lot of fun doing it.

  1. Jump into a leaf pile

After raking up the fallen leaves in your yard, unleash your inner child and jump into the pile. This is a completely free way to relieve any built up stress and have a fun day.

  1. Watch Halloween movies with hot chocolate

I love watching my old favorite Halloween movies from childhood. Charlie Brown, Coraline, and some Halloween specials from my favorite shows are my favorites. If you are a horror movie fan, turn off the lights for the ultimate experience. If you do go the horror movie route, you may want to opt for some popcorn and water instead of a hot beverage. The last thing you want is to be jump scared and end up with hot chocolate on your lap.

  1. Bake

Take some of the apples or pumpkins you picked and bake a pie. Or, if you are like me and not very skilled when it comes to pies, bake some cookies! Fall time means there will be Halloween style ready-to-bake cookies in the grocery stores.

  1. Read outside

Reading is a great activity in every season, but Fall allows you to read outside. It is the perfect temperature, there are no bugs, and it is incredibly relaxing. Fall is usually when I pull out an old favorite like The Hunger Games or Twilight.

  1. Try new Pumpkin Spice products

I have recently tried the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Cheerios and absolutely love them. Stores are filled with new Pumpkin Spice flavored food. There are PopTarts, Oatmeal, Cookies— even drinks at Dunkin and Starbucks are back. Enjoy them while they are available.

  1. Carve a pumpkin

Take some of the pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and carve a cool design into it for Halloween. I love when my neighborhood goes all out and decorates their front porches for the holidays.

  1. Plan your Halloween costume

No matter how old you are, you are never too old to dress up for Halloween. Whether you are trick-or-treating, taking someone trick-or-treating, handing out candy, going to a party, or just hanging out at home, dress up for the occasion!
