Easy Sunday Routine / Reset for a Productive Week
Most people are not a fan of Mondays. It’s the official start of a new work / school week and the end of our blissful weekend. You can make the transition to a new week easier by preparing ahead of time during a relaxing weekend.
- Wash your laundry
Clean your clothes, towels, and bedding on Sunday so you are not scrambling to find your backup dress pants on Monday morning. Going to bed on Sunday night with freshly cleaned sheets is refreshing and will make for a more comfortable night’s sleep.
- Make your bed / clean up room
Making your bed on Sunday and ensuring everything in your room is its respective space will make it easier for you to find what you need on your groggy Monday morning. Having a clean living space will help you start your new week off strong.
- Clean out your refrigerator
Clean out any food that has expired from your refrigerator. The last thing you need on your dreaded Monday is to start your day will a week old container of yogurt that you forgot to toss.
- Read a chapter of a book
Schedule some time in your day to read a chapter of a good book to get your brain ready to work again. Reading before bed is always a good choice as it helps you fall asleep faster and prevents you from scrolling through TikTok instead.
- Sweep / vacuum
It is easy to let the frivolous chores pass us by during the chaos of the week. Try to sweep and vacuum your floors on Sunday to start the week on a clean slate.
- Light a candle
Chores aren’t always fun, but lighting a candle and listening to music while you clean can make you feel like you are starring in your own Lifetime movie.
- Spend time outside
Take five minutes out of your day and step outside. Fresh air can do wonders for your mind, allowing you to wash away last week’s problems to prepare for a new week.
- Fill your car up with gas
Make a trip to the gas station and fill up your gas tank. This will ensure you do not run late for work waiting for your turn at a gas pump in the morning.
- Meal plan / grocery shop
Make a plan for your meals for the week and buy everything you will need ahead of time. Having everything prepped will take a load off of your shoulders during the week.
- Exercise
Exercising is good for both the mind and body. You don’t need to have a long workout or even go to the gym to get the benefits. You can simply go for a walk around your neighborhood or try some yoga in your living room.
