The key to feeling motivated in the morning is actually making plans the night before. I know my bed feels ten times more comfortable when my alarm goes off. Here are some things you can do to get your day started on a good note.
- Plan an exciting breakfast the night before
You know what they say— breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Planning a satisfying breakfast the night before will give you a simple task to complete and leave you with a sense of accomplishment. Try to put something together that tastes good, but also provides enough fuel to keep you going.
- Plan your outfit the night before
A good outfit can change your outlook on just about anything. Check the weather before you go to sleep and plan your outfit accordingly. This will save some precious time in the early waking hours. Otherwise you might end up like me— groggily staring into my closet and waiting for something cute to jump out at me.
- Fit in a workout
Even if it is only a five minute stretch, try to get your body moving; it will help wake you up.
- Drink water as soon as you wake up
Keep a glass of water beside your bed when you fall asleep. It is always best to stay hydrated, so start your day off with a good habit.
- Make a to-do list the night before
Having a list of things you want to accomplish throughout the day already made up ensures you will not forget anything important in the craziness that 24 hours can hold.
6. Make your bed
This one is a cliché for a reason. There is just something about seeing a clean section of your room that motivates you to tackle another task. Making your bed also strips away any temptation of crawling back under the covers and sleeping the day away.
