“Routine” – Poem

Beep. Beep. Beep.

   Snooze.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

   Snooze.

Life in repeat.

Every day, the same routine.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

   Snooze.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

   Snooze.

There’s never enough time-

I can never sleep enough.

I can never study enough.

I can never read enough.

My heartless alarm clock is insistent on torturing me-

always waking me up far too early.

But I open the window and allow the breeze to blow away my stress

and I get out of bed and go about my day.

Always in the same boots,

in the same jacket.

Always living the same life.
